About Us

Anchor Park has been a family owned and run park for over 70 years. Originally a private garden it now accommodates 46 Park Homes, each set within its own fenced garden offering every home its own private space.

The Park is quiet and peaceful with mature trees and shrubs and well maintained communal areas.

The river Ingol flows through the ‘Riverside’ Area of the park. The ‘Riverside’ has a large central lawn surrounded by mature trees, colourful flower beds and wildflowers. This area encourages a wide variety of wildlife including water voles, grass snakes, bats, a barn owl, green and spotted woodpeckers, water hens, wagtails, jays, jackdaws, kingfishers, and many other garden birds.

Anchor park is also known as ‘The Garden Village’ due to the beautiful private gardens of the residents in addition to these communal areas. For 30 years the park has hosted an annual garden competition for the residents in July. The prize giving is held in marquee on the riverside with lunch, drinks and a local guest who judges the gardens and presents the prizes.

The Park has held the ‘David Bellamy Conservation Award’ since 2000. This award scheme champions Parks that are working to protect and enhance Britain’s environment.
